What warranty comes with a DIY 5th Gen system?
MRCOOL publishes a base warranty of 7 years on the compressor and 5 years on parts for the DIY 5th Generation line. Other lines can differ, so read the compressor and parts terms in the specifications on the product page for the system you are actually buying.
Base terms are a starting point, not the whole document. Registration requirements, what counts as a covered part, whether labour is included, and how a claim is filed are all set by the warranty document itself.

Find the document for your exact product
Use the warranty document linked from the product page. For a multi-zone bundle, keep the bundle and its component list with that document, because a family-level one may not describe the bundle you resolved.
Read it before you need it. The requirements that most often affect a claim — registration windows, installation conditions, who may perform service — are ones you can still satisfy at purchase and cannot retroactively.
Planning checklist
- The exact model, or the multi-zone bundle you bought
- The current warranty document linked from that product page
- Your proof of purchase and the purchase date
- Any registration step the document requires, and its deadline
- The installation record, including who performed any work you did not

Preserve the document trail
Record the model, the document title, and where you found it, so support can look at the same material.
If the product or the bundle changes, check the documents again for the new one.

Ask when the source is missing or unclear
Contact product support before relying on a warranty statement when the source is absent, appears family-wide, or does not clearly match the exact product.
Describe the missing or unclear source without treating that gap as proof of coverage or exclusion.
